Panasonic DMC-ZS35K 16.1 MP Digital Camera with 3-Inch LCD (Black)
- I purchased this camera in the hopes of using it as a decent travel camera on a recent trip to the Philippines. Based on it\'s specs and mostly the ability to wireless transfer photos to my mobile devices, I took a chance on it. I was fully aware of the limitations of point and shoot cameras, having owned several in comparison to the DSLR\'s I also owned, but I wasn\'t looking to get really amazing shots on this trip, but certainly really good ones weren\'t out of the question. However, in using the camera in a variety of situations (indoor, outdoor, low light, bright day), I would say that the results fell incredibly flat. Beyond the Programmed Auto mode (which was average at best), all of the other modes were consistently poor and inconsistent. In the lead for this poor performance was the HDR mode, which rendered somewhat average to poor landscape pictures, and absolutely terrible portrait pictures (all portrait pictures would have this \"fake\" skin tone). But by far the biggest issue I had with this camera was the incredibly slow performance of all menu and shooting functions. From start-up to first shot, it was always a minimum of 5 seconds. This is an infinite amount of time when your perfect moment could be gone that quickly. The same lag extended to switching camera modes as well. This became maddeningly frustrating many times during my trip, as I would have to wait for the camera to play catch-up, and often would miss the shot I had intended. I hope they can fix this with a firmware update in the future, but considering many of the \"reviews\" I\'ve read on this, it\'s not looking like there is enough negative feedback to make this happen any time soon. After years of using Canon products, my first foray into another manufacturer\'s camera was sorely disappointing, and probably one mistake I will be careful to avoid in the future.
- I bought this as a vlogging/occasional filming camera for Youtube videos until I could afford a DSLR. I\'m very pleased with it\'s Full HD quality. The camera overall works well for the purpose it\'s serving, though I don\'t really use it for photos, it does take awesome pictures as well. I\'d recommend this to someone who wants a nice camera to take high quality photos of their travels, friends and families. It does lag a bit when you turn it on, but it\'s nowhere near as bad as the other people in these reviews are making it seem. They must be really impatient. The lag is maybe a second long, if that. The flip up screen is great for filming too, especially vlogging when you want to make sure you\'re constantly in frame. I think this is an awesome beginner\'s point and shoot.
- I bought this specifically for a series of concerts. At the first one, when I took the camera out of my purse, it had moved from the AUTO to the P (PROGRAM) setting and I didn\'t notice. Most of those pictures were awful but the few that did come out by accident were quite good. At the next show, the low light scenes came out extremely dark so I switched to another camera. I thought there must have been something wrong with this specific camera so I returned it. But I loved the size and feel of the camera. I did take a picture of my puppy on the house with it and that was quite nice, I found it slow when turning it on and off but again, that could have been just this particular camera. I\'m thinking that I may buy it again.
- Surprisingly Good Photos from a Tiny, Lightweight Camera! A medical condition which makes every ounce I carry with me a burden on trips forced me seek alternatives to the full-size Nikon F and Canon Eos SLRs which I\'d loved for years. This camera produces surprisingly good stills and videos; the zoom gives you a wide range; it\'s easy to control exposures and shutter speeds; the auto focus gives you flexibility; it\'s sensitive enough to get good photos in dim ambient light conditions; and it\'s easy to carry on your wrist. I only have three minor problems with it: (1) stability becomes an issue when shooting a video; (2) it\'s sometimes hard to decide where/how to hold it; and (3) if you carry it around on your wrist it\'s hard to protect the camera from knocking into things and hard to decide what to do with the soft shell case provided in the meantime. But, since the camera\'s lack of size & heft are the fundamental reasons I bought it in the first place, I can hardly complain.
- People who want an extremely high quality and versatile camera that is small enough to fit in ones pocketor purse will find this a great travel companion. Can be used fully automatically, or lots of manual settings, including many scene settings. Has Wi fi. Also a very effective stabilized zoom with lots of range. Tofind out more about this exceptional Panasonic camera, go to Google and type in Panasonic ZS35K.Personally, I think that this is one of the best pocket sized cameras out there. Contact me for any questions.Incidentally, in the automatic mode, it senses if you are taking photos of people, landscapes, night scenes, etc. etc.
- A bit heavier than my DMZ-ZS 10 & 19 cameras but still very manageable. A very capable compact point/shoot camera with wonderful features that have fit every photo situation I\'ve encountered. I owned one of this series of DMC-ZS cameras since 2010 & have upgraded twice for better features. I use it at work & for personal photography. It\'s easy to carry in a belt pouch so I always have a camera at hand. Not something I\'d try with a DSLR.
- Really a great point and shoot. The flip up screen is awesome and the quality is solid. Only thing I hate is how slow the camera goes into recording. But other than that camera is a great buy
- I like the added feature of WIFI capability and decent battery life. The lens is a bit slow in focusing and exposure on low light condition is average at best. Lastly, unlike previous Lumix models, this model is missing the dedicated battery charger. It now charges with the battery inside the camera.
