Panasonic LUMIX G100 4k Mirrorless Camera for Photo and Video, Built-in Microphone with Tracking, Micro Four Thirds Interchangeable Lens System, 12-32mm Lens, 5-Axis Hybrid I.S, DC-G100KK (Black)
- No complaints and it’s very compact
- I wish this camera did not auto stop filming after twenty minutes. With that said I have been able to make some hour long YouTube videos with this camera. The battery last about five hours filming straight I know this because I have gotten so into what I was doing that I would look up and the red light rim around the screen is flashing and the battery icon is blinking. On that note I love the fact the screen can flip over I like to watch myself while I film. In editing it is noticeable when I have had to start with the lumix G100 and finish with my snap touch or use all three my cell phone the lumix G100 and my snap touch. My snap touch camera has the worst picture filming, my Galaxy j2 core is in the middle and this camera the lumix G100 has the best filming quality.I do wish it did come with a nicer carrying case and I have had a hard time finding a nice leather carrying case to fit this camera perfectly as no one seems to make assorieries like cases for this camera. I also wish it came with a longer usb cable but I have used my Xbox one controller cable to charge this device so I think the port is Universal so that is a easy fix. The camera only charges when off so you cant film and charge at the same time. With all that said I still give this camera five stars and I do recommend using this camera if you have the money to dough out on it. If you can wait for the price to go down you are only missing out on HD video for filming and HD sound in your video. Not %100 needed for your channel but could add that extra wow factor.I have also found that the noise reduction works best if you go into a different room and close the door. I have a roommate that likes to listen to the radio and the TV at the same time. This camera was unable to noise reduce him while in the same room not that I would expect it too he\'s very loud. In fact I am surprised it was able to noise reduce him at all and is in fact the main reason why I bought this camera so I would not have any more after midnight or later filming to make content for my channel.*I bought the camera only and not the kit.
- I like most of the camera features and it\'s quality photos. But this particular package is limited. Its not an slr, has nill zoom, with nill macro. Ill have to buy another lens to get that.Yep. Information was not dummy proof for a photo ditz like me,... and with no sales person ask, or camera to actually handle and try... I\'m a little disappointed but It is what it is.Honestly my old Nikon Coolpix s9700 has more zoom and macro than this camera at half the cost .Just saying.
- I switched from a G9 to this one and I have no regrets.
- Did not work off the bat. Shutter did not open. Upon further investigation, this is a common problem with this camera. Will be getting a Cannon instead.
- I have both the G100 and GX9.After using them both I personally like the G100 better and I find myself using it much more often. Mainly due to the PROs listed below. Many people say lack of IBIS but for me it doesn’t really matter, I tend to use fast prime lenses and higher ISO, because noise doesn’t bother me that much. I personally chose a small and light camera over ibis.PROs:Very small and light weight; No compromise image quality (it uses the same sensor as top of the line Panasonic M4/3 cameras);Fully articulated, bright, responsive, class leading, hi-res screen;Plastic body but very high build quality;Effective Hybrid 5-axis stabilization;Fun to use modes such as Live View Comp, Self Shot. These modes are not available in older Panasonic cameras such as GX9;Compatible with the entire extensive M4/3 lens line up;Very user friendly, fast and responsive menu; Does NOT overheat.CONs:Mechanical shutter is limited to 1/500s fastest speed;Flash sync is limited to 1/50s which is very slow;NO Sensor Shift IBIS, only E-stabilization;Shutter does not sound as good as GX9;No exposure comp. dial;No focus mode lever;Thumb dial is finicky and takes getting used to;Recording has time limitation:4k has significant crop and E-stabilization crops even more of your image.
- The g100 has been working extremely well for my uses. I mainly take stills but the impeccable video is seeing more and more use each day. The kit lens, as is almost always the case, leaves something to be desired. Almost anyone buying any camera will upgrade from this fairly quickly so remember this when looking at reviews. The kit lens is not horrendous but it is what it is. Save up and buy yourself a cheap manual only prime lens and learn to use it. I have a cheap 7artisans and it works great. Panasonic also sells some nice AF 25mm primes that are great. Then get a mid range zoom. Image attached is with the Lumix 45-150 vario lens. Images have come out great on this little thing. The portability is GREAT. It weighs so little! I can pack this and tons of equipment into a small bag as opposed to the weight and bulk of a full size. Battery life has been great for me.Once you learn this camera it will be an exceptional addition to your loadout. Remember, it is not a full frame $2k dslr. That being said, the image quality is superb if you get your settings dialed in and practice practice practice. The best camera is the one you have with you and this camera makes taking it with you easy. Pair it with a pancake lens and it fits in a pocket Even though it is geared at vlogging, stills can still be excellent. I am happy with my g100.Happy Shooting and remember, it is Not weather proof so treat it as almost any camera out today.
- its very samll
