Canon EOS-1V Professional SLR Body (Discontinued by Manufacturer)
- Camera is great and in perfect condition. I am irritated that their listing says it includes a battery though it did not. I reached out to the seller and am awaiting a response. Other than that, it looks to be in good condition. Hopefully it works once I get a battery lol. (Also FYI there is no lens included in the purchase, just the body)
- I got the camera about a week ago. The packaging was disappointing. The plastic bubbles were wrapped only like once around the camera and the buffer during the transportation was very weak that the plastic bubbles already broke and the camera must body have hit or handled hardly during the transportation. I don’t understand why the seller was so stingy for the plastics! The box was Half empty and I can feel the heavy camera can move freely when I shake the box. Anyway, the camera itself seems ok from the outside. No obvious broke or scratch. But I don’t know what happened inside because of hard landing during the transportation. I’m still learning the functions. One thing I noticed is that when I mounted my canon lens and half presse the shutter button the focus is having problem and struggling. I can hear the sound of lens struggling to focus. Not sure why.
- The more I held this camera the better it felt.It was everything ,everyone had promised. No regrets but there was a small fly in the ointment(the buying experience). For reasons I can never explain, I asked Amazon if a battery ,type 2CR5, should have been in the box.The prompt reply was \"yes\".I got a shock to say the least. Not because I had been short changed out of a $6 battery but that I could have been sold an used or returned item.I trust Amazon but mistakes do happen. So another e-mail to Amazon but this time they said that the previous e-mail was wrong and no battery is included in the package. They offered a $50 rebate into my credit card account as a form of compensation for the distress they had caused me.Being the el\' cheapo I accepted it.However to my suprise, Canon USA ,whom I had checked with about the battery, said there should have been a battery in the box. Here we go again I thought. Now I am thinking could the guy at Canon been wrong.Maybe he, being new to this field is thinking of the EOS DIGITAL cameras which come with batteries. Can anyone tell me if this camera(EOS-1V) comes with a battery? Thanks.
- I bought the G12 to take on my cross country solo bike trip. I own and use a Canon 50D and 5D cameras for several years. But due to weight I can\'t take those cameras. I wanted I end point and shoot with the ability to do manual control and a remote release for long night exposures. And G12 does all that. But not very well at all.First off no closes ups at all. Not even talking macro shots. Just close ups of a flower. It can\'t focus at all or is blurry.Second slow focus if at all on average normal photosThird it\'s rated a 10 megapixel camera. But of the 30 or more photos taken so far. They only are 3 to 4 megapixel in size.Fourth if you enlarge at all the shear quality of the photo is crap. My iPhone does simlar quality shots. And that\'s not saying much.Fifth I bought a Canon sure shot a few years back and it does much better photos.I am so discussed by this product I think I am going to return it. I gave the G12( 2 stars ) because it\'s a Canon and it\'s easy to use. Especially if you used Canon SLR\'s before. But it really deserves ( 1 star ) or none. I don\'t think the reviews on this camera are very true. And this is from a photographer of many years.
- I\'ve shot on Canon DSLRs for years and decided to jump to film. This is my first film camera and as soon as I clicked the shutter button, I fell in love! Since I\'m used to the canon DSLR bodies and techniques, this was an easier learning curve than I anticipated.
- There is a lens shown in the ad and NO MENTION that it is not included. So, where is the lens?
- An incredible camera. Will use it forever!
- One of my favorite cameras to use, it\'s always in my camera bag and hasn\'t let me down in the slightest. Still a workhorse and I reach for this far more than I reach for my DSLR.
