Sony CyberShot RX10 IV Digital Camera with 128GB SD Card and Accessory Bundle
- Hi my name is Johnny, I\'m a 74 year old male, new to Bird photography. Before I bought the Sony I was using a Canon G7X point and shoot, it was very good when birds were not hiding in between trees or far away. I really love my Canon because it has a very bright lens 1:1.8-2.8 but it doesn\'t do too well when the sun is shining on the screen that you photograph from because it\'s like looking into a mirror, which makes it very difficult to capture images and or following birds. A photographer friend who has this Sony CyberShot RX10 IV got me interested in his camera, so I researched it on line and purchased it on October 26, 2021. I also bought the book by, Alexander S. White, (I would highly recommend this book because Alexander takes you step by how to use the camera and to know what doing). After reading Alexander\'s book a few days, felt more confident and decided (with help from my wife to start using the Sony. Being able to look through a viewfinder instead really helped seeing the birds when the sun was shining so bright. I really love this Camera it\'s just what I needed to be able to capture images the way I hoped I would. I have read reviews, where the reviewers complain about some times the camera doesn\'t focus the way they want it to, but when that usually happens when the camera is focusing on something that is in the way of what you want to capture. You may have to move the camera away from what you are trying to capture, then focus on your subject, this works for me. The Sony Cyber Shot RX10 IV is the best Camera I\'ve ever owned, and I\'m so very Happy with it\'s awesome performance. There maybe cameras that can get you closer to your subject but at a much, much higher cost. I hope that this review was helpful. Johnny
- This is my first bridge camera so I am definitely not an expert but I really love this camera so far. It feels great in my hand and is easy to use. I didn\'t realize that it had a \"limited\" touch screen when I purchased it but that\'s not a big deal to me. You can use the touch screen only to select a focus area and to move around in the photo during playback. However, I do not mind using the dial and enter button to change the options. In fact, the touch screen of my last camera (Panasonic Lumix DZ200) was so sensitive that I selected settings that I didn\'t want to use by accident lots of times. The zoom on this camera is excellent and I\'ve already photographed several birds that I could never have identified if not for the powerful zoom. It\'s not as heavy as I expected and I don\'t find it difficult to carry around with me at all. I like the different scene settings available and the intuitive, straightforward menus.Definitely a great camera and well worth the money.
- This is my second Sony RX10MII. The first one I had and used for about 7 years. MY MII just died and I replaced it with the latest RX10MIV. Out of the box, it resembles the MII but is stockier and heavier, not by much but noticeable in my hand. Lately I\'ve been shooting Little League baseball and the IV has a much longer zoom. Sharp Zeiss lens. The bundle included off brand batteries, SanDisk 128g Extreme Pro, and a sturdy Pelican Storm Protector Case which fits nothing! I\'d rather have Sony OEM batteries and a Hoya/Tiffen/B+W UV/Skylight filter. The Case is baffling me. Why would they include a case that fits nothing?? I just heard there\'s a new MV coming soon but I wanted it immediately and this company got it to me in 3 days! Remarkable!!
- I bought this camera to replace an older Sony point-and-shoot that fit in my pocket. I loved it, but it reached the end of its lifespan (too soon). This camera is a huge step up in every way. Obviously, I can\'t carry it in my pocket, but this is like switching from a Vespa scooter to a Maserati. After much research and thought, I realized I didn\'t want to change lenses, so all things considered, this rig seemed like an excellent option. The camera takes gorgeous pictures. The zoom is impressive. There are more features on this camera than I will ever use, and that\'s OK. Most of my photography is nature landscapes, flowers, and birds. So far, it\'s working well for all of that. The camera has settings for pretty much any shooting scenario you can think of. The camera is a little bit heavy, but I\'m sure I\'ll get used to it. The items that come in the bundle are well-thought-out and a fantastic value. There\'s a lot of bang for the buck all around here.
- This camera is by far and away the best bridge camera I\'ve owned. The quality of the photos, the many options for settings, the speed of taking photos, the autofocus capabilities, etc. are all \"top of the line\". As an example, my photos of birds in flight have always be hit or miss, with lots more misses than hits. I\'m am now taking photos of even small birds in flight that are of better quality than almost all that I\'ve taken in the past. The zoom on this camera is from 35 mm to 600 mm. With the excellent resolution and stabilization of this camera, greater zoom isn\'t really needed.
- I also own the RX102and RX103. I recently needed three cameras to produce a video of a Mormon Pioneer Trek in Wyoming. We took stills and video with each camera. The RX10IV performed very well. Focus speed was great and we shot with the entire range of 24-600MM. Quality is very good through ISO 800 and fair but usable above that. Battery life is low so we carried a dozen batteries for the 4 days of shooting and charged some at night. It is easy to switch between stills and video clips which we will merge into the finished video. There are no application aps available for the IV. therefore I used an intervalometer for time lapse with the IV but also used the 3 with the time lapse ap. . It was realy nice not to have to change lenses and of course, have to carry them like with my other Sony cameras. These are sealed and we didn\'t have to worry about dust on the sensor. The one inch sensor on all three of these makes it a little hard to throw a background out of focus.
