- THE ALL-WEATHER ADVENTURE CAMERA: A rugged chassis you can rely on in the harshest conditions.
- HIGH RESOLUTION WITH ALL THE MUST-HAVE FEATURES: With a high-performance image processing engine and a back-illuminated CMOS sensor boasting high optical efficiency and an effective 16 megapixel, the WG-70 takes low-noise photos with a wide dynamic range that look beautiful even as prints.
- WATERPROOF 14M: With features that include uncompromising waterproofing - good for 2 hours of continuous use at a depth of 14 meters
- UNDERWATER MODE: This mode uses white balance optimized for underwater photos, making colors appear more natural by adding reds that tend to get lost in photos taken under water.
- FULL HD VIDEO: While the camera can of course record Full HD (16:9) video at 30 fps, it also offers a High Speed Movie mode for recording slow-motion video and an Underwater Movie mode suited to underwater movie recording. Movie and Underwater Movie modes offer Movie SR (shake reduction), which can be used to reduce the effects of camera shake.
- DIGITAL MICROSCOPE MODE: The WG-70’s Digital Microscope mode makes it easy to take impressive macro photographs that capture details that cannot be resolved by the naked eye. The 6-LED Ring Light helps prevent blur by allowing faster shutter speeds.

Ricoh WG-70 Orange Waterproof Digital Camera 16MP
- i am going on a vacation in Costa Rica so haven\'t actually used yet, took a few photos around home and fine
- I love this camera. I specialize in close-up photography, and most of the pictures I have taken have been on the beach of animals or their remains. I take photos with the camera slightly under the water or above it where it gets splashed. (I do not dive with it.) I end up with tons of sand on it and have dropped it often. I have seen no decline in the quality of the photos from this rugged treatment.I can get so close that the lens \"cap\" touches the subject! The quality of the detail from being so close is amazing. I often say, \"I had no idea they looked like that!\" The camera reveals what would otherwise be invisible to me. My more expensive Sony point-and-shoot cannot get nearly as close and stay in focus.I attached a photo of the bottom side of a purple sea urchin. I have other photos that are even closer, but posted this one so that the viewer can more easily tell what it is.The camera has lots of features for those who prefer more than an Auto setting. For those who don\'t, just put it on Auto and point-and-shoot. Another big plus is that the battery lasts a long time relative to other cameras I have. The weaknesses are that the zoom is not particularly good. The battery cover and charging port are not easily opened, which might be because it helps keep it water proof. The screen has scratches and marks---given how I bang it around that isn\'t a surprise. I think adding a screen protector would be a smart move.Overall, it\'s a great camera, with a price considerably less than other good cameras of a similar type. It can handle water, sand, dirt, dropping, and generally treated badly, as I often do, without a decline in quality.
- Camera was used during summer camp, but staff. not just 1 operator. And 90% of all pictures were from a canoe or kayak. It went through splashes, rain, dropping into water (glad it had floats). And did very well. For being on the water it was fantastic. The other 10% of the pictures were inside taking pictures of campers receiving awards from staff. The inside picture quality could have been better, tried several setting but none did as well as I hoped.
- I ordered a Ricoh WG-70 waterproof camera from Amazon back in December of 2021, so I could shoot underwater wildlife. I used it for a couple of months before realizing that the image quality was only marginally okay if all the conditions were perfect -by which I mean the light is ideal and the camera is perfectly stabilized. Otherwise, the images are about on par with a budget smart phone.I realized what I really needed was a TG-6, which I purchased through Amazon in March of 2022. Since then, I use the TG-6 and only keep the WG-7 charged and packed as an emergency backup, in case I am in the field and the other camera dies. Even though I only use it periodically, I always make sure the WG-70 is charged and can turn on and off and take at least one image before I take it out into the field.Today, I went to go and charge it and realized that it would not turn on. Thinking the battery might have died somehow (although not sure how this could have happened) I plugged it in to charge. The green power light began to blink, but even after leaving it plugged in for a bit it would not turn on. I removed the battery and put it back in. I tried the charger at multiple outlets. I did all the regular troubleshooting stuff. I tried searching online but found surprisingly little information about this model of camera. Either no one has ever had this problem before or hardly anyone actually owns this camera. When I have a problem with one of my Canons I can always find a solution in some photography forum. With this thing, I couldn\'t even find the solution within the instruction manual. It could be that it needs a new battery (although such a battery should have a much longer shelf life). It is now August and my product support eligibility ended in June. It happens to be a Saturday, so there’s no one available via phone. So, I suppose this will just be a rather expensive paperweight.
- I got this for many reasons! One I am an open water swimmer and I can attach it to my swim bouy. Two, i hate smart phones and rather carry a simple camera and flip phone as needed. Three and the best feature, I can hand this to my 3.5 year old son and let his him poop and shoot all day long. In the water, covered in sand, on the rocks, in the boat and sharing with his friends all under 6 years old. It is way better then then those kids cameras because it helps them be present and not play stupid games as they have on the kids cameras. Rather my son likes to takes a tine of pictures and share or later I get the joy of seeing the world through his perspective!
- This camera is waterproof! I know that seems obvious, but I have ordered others which say they are \"waterproof\" and aren\'t. The photos taken on dry land and underwater are good to excellent. However, those taken under water can be blurry for a variety of reasons (many of which have to do with my skill). I have to throw away a fair number of shots. On the other hand this is not a problem, since they are electronic and they are easy to take with this camera. When zoomed, the shots are affected more by the operator. (In other words if you are shaky, it has more effect when the shots are in zoom.) The ring that can be put on the camera to improve the shots can easily be lost. The camera works fine without it. Definitely a camera that I can recommend to the amateur for home or vacation.
- Everything about this camera is excellent picture quality battery life and looks very short
- This camera is used for work. It is exposed to harsh environments daily and has operated flawlessly. Picture quality is great. Especially the zoom. The microscope picture mode is a bonus and I find I need it more than expected. The LED ring lights that are automatic in this mode make it great for those close up shots in tight spaces. The LED lights can be always on in situations where you may need that feature. Great camera for the money.
