- Originally, I bought the SX610 HS. It was fine, but I thought I would be interested in learning more about how to used the more advanced features, so I returned it and bought the SX710 HS. The \"learning more about the advanced features\" is not happening, I just don\'t understand how to use these advanced features and am totally lost. The Vivid option sometimes has odd colors, and I find the Auto features non-intuitive to use. I found the SX610 HS much easier to use and wish I kept it. I do have to say, however, that I do not believe there is anything wrong with my SX710 HS, it is just not the appropriate camera for me. I\'m giving this 4 stars because I suspect the Vivid color issue and the Auto issue are my problem.I am thinking of trading it in.
- I got this camera used, and am quite happy with it\'s performance so far. the 30X zoom - equivalent 25-750mm is totally awesome. To be expected, the 1/2.3 size sensor is less than stellar for low light shooting, but I new this before purchasing the camera.The only issue i had with the Seller or the camera is that i received a Nikon battery charger, instead of the one that would fit the Canon NB-6L battery that this camera uses. I guess i\'ll just have to go buy one.
- The camera is just the right size for what I was looking for. The pictures are great! Not all of the menus are logical. This could just be me but some take a long time to figure what I am trying to do. The user manual is ok but could also use some help. Overall I am very happy with the camera and would purchase it again and recommend it.
- I just tested this camera on week long vacation. The pictures taken outside were impressive. The camera loves sunlight. The pictures take indoors were not very good. If the person was moving the pictures showed movement. (I was using Auto Mode) I will test on another vacation in the near future. I am still disappointed when a phone takes better pictures than a camera. But, once again this was the case.
- MY WIFE REALLY LIKES THIS CAMERA. TAKES GOOD PICTURES AND EASY TO TRAVEL WITH BECAUSE OF THE SIZE. SHE HAS A BIGGER, BETTER CAMERA, BUT DID NOT WANT TO TAKE IT ON OUR LAST TRIP OVERSEAS, AND THIS WAS JUST PERFECT FOR WHAT SHE WANTED.
- Camera failed to hold charge. Bad charger or battery perhaps. Vendor Stone Deal USA was useless. Didn\'t reply in timely manner. Didn\'t follow up. Was no help at all. Avoid them. Sent camera to Canon. They replaced with a newer SX720, so kudos to them. Since no repair, I don\'t know what the problem was, but the issue is moot. Love the camera.
- Love it. Was a referb. Most of my camera\'s today are referbs. 2 1/2\" monitor and 1\" sensor (almost 35mm). Miss the viewfinder on earlier versions of Canon. Great as a pocket camera-recommend monopod for videos. Still have my Canon heavier bridge camera, SX-50 with viewfinder, for bigger jobs.
