• A bird watcher here, and I love the camera for nice clear pictures of the birds at the feeders...even through the windows!
• I bought this camera, so my previous of this kind can be pass on to my grandson, since I like it so much. However, the camera came without booklet instructions and since I am not that technologic savvy person, I am having some challenges setting it up, as I had done with my old one. Also, the packaging was poorly done, the camera came in its own box, which was inside a box twice as big as the camera box and with no real bobble wrapping, but just the one covering such camera box. Therefore, that little box bounce back and forth all through the shipping procedure. The fact that this camera came with no instructions manual, lets me to wonder if its \"refurbish\" and sold as \"new\", for which I paid the original price??? Needless to say I am disappointed at the overall purchase, but I will keep it and find someone that can help me with the setting.
• I think my 600 took better pix than this 720. I don\'t feel like I upgraded. I paid more & expected more. I wish I had just bought another 600.
• I had one just like it, but it broke so this is a replacement. The camera is as advertised and expected but it did not have English as \"the\" language, so I did have to call Canon to get help to change the language.
• Really like this camera! It is so versital. Basic use is excellent, but it is so well designed technically, it can function like many of the high end SLR cameras that the pros use. (I know because my daughter is a professional photographer and she approved of this cameras abilities.) But the zoom features are far superior to the SLR cameras at a smidgen of the cost because the SLRs require add-on lens. The SX720 has a powerful 40X lens that does not seem to lose its sharpness, clarity or color composition at full extension. I\'m not an expert in camera use. I researched for a light-weight compact camera that was not too expensive to take with us on an overseas trip. It is small enough to put in pocket, purse or fanny pack and quick to turn on and use almost immediately. There are so many options on cameras and price ranges now that it got confusing to us. It boiled down to size, price, zoom lens and automatic technical functions that weren\'t too complicated. The bonuses we found out, surprisingly, were how fast it shoots without loss of sharpness, how quickly it converts to other modes of operation; stills to rapid fire to video, without loss to quality of picture(s) and tough. Its\' metal must be titanium because I dropped it a couple times on our tile floor without any noticeable damage. ( it comes with a wrist strap, which I now use every time I go to use the camera.) We paid $248 for the kit, camera, battery charger(rechargeable battery included) and strap. If there is a negative, the camera does not come with instructions. We had to go on-line and download the manual, which is about 87 pages. You will need the first half of the manual which includes the important info such as set-up, basic operation and features to use.
• I write a weekly family newspaper for my family which is scattered across the country, and I use the sx720 for illustrating it. The problem with the SX720 is common to all small cameras - no viewfinder - so it gets difficult when the sun reflects off the viewing screen. Having a 40x zoom is a real strength when shooting animals. With experience using the TV mode lets you preset the ISO and one of the other of fstop and shutter speed. I this is its strongest feature. You can get the drama of lighting which you cant get from auto mode which makes everything look like it was photographed at noon.
• It is not quite what he wanted, but he picked it out. He used it on a recent trip and took some good pictures with it. It is not all that he wanted so he will probably continue to look. It is small, lightweight, and easy to pack. The case is hard-sided (wish mine was like it). The flash is a pop-up thing that pops up when it decides you need the flash. It didn\'t always work the way he wanted. But, it took good pictures and it will do.
• Love the colour and the size, great zoom and easy to use with great results.
