  • This is actually the second of these cameras I have gotten. It works great and have tons of features that makes the photos crisp and clear.
  • I have used this camera several times a week since I received it 6 months ago. I have practiced using all of the functions. I mostly wanted this particular camera because of the price and zoom range that I cannot get with my phone camera. This is a nice size camera, but focusing is many times difficult. 1. I will never buy another camera that doesn\'t have a view finder. Forget taking pictures in sunlight without that. You are literally shooting blind with the fixed screen that shows nothing but glare. I have ordered a glare screen cover to see if this will help with that. 2. There are times it has difficulty focusing on near objects. This is frustrating when you know you could have the same shot in a second with your phone camera. I have gotten some good shots after much trial and error but cannot recommend this or any camera that doesn\'t have a view finder. Also a lot of zoom shots are blurry no matter how still I hold the camera. A tripod isn\'t something you want to carry everywhere.Added 7-17-21: I purchased a glare screen cover specifically for this camera model and it was of marginal benefit. Nikon: There is no reason a camera screen shouldn\'t work as well as the screen on a phone! Either leave the view finder on the camera or fix the screen.
  • The Nikon B600 while having an impressive telephoto lens for still photography the auto focus does not work at all when changing the focal length or when the subject is moving in a video. There is no munual settings so controlling the depth of feild is difficult other than changing the DIN setting. To get the camera to focus every time you change the focal length you have to gently press the shutter button. So if you think you are going to set the camera on a tripod and shoot video and it stay iin focus forget it. You will need a tripod for the image stabilization is non-existent whether standing still and forget walking with it shooting video. Need to bring back the Coolpx AW130 it was a much better camera than this one.
  • The zoom available on this point and shoot camera is so much better than I could have imagined!! The moon picture is out of this world! ;) I\'ve only had this for a little over a month, so my pictures are mainly of wildlife in my immediate area. Can\'t wait to take this on trips with me. Image quality is very good and I\'ve discovered a new hobby simply because I love the results I can achieve with this little camera!
  • I am an amateur, but I get what I am after with the Nikon B600. 1) The photo of the sunset (over Granite Mtn AZ) was simply shot by angling the camera which enhanced the light and removed any glare. 2)The photo of the Pronghorn was shot at 100+ yards without a tripod on auto setting. [That simple!] 3) Mingus Moon, again on auto with no tripod. 4) This Lonesome Valley, AZ wheel barrow was shot by simply washing out the color scale to zero. 5) \"Jester\" was the third picture I took with the camera with the instruction booklet sitting on my lap. Again, this was on auto rather than \"macro\". 6) This shot was without tripod but set on Macro. Note the minute thorns on the bottom bud. 7) This last shot was at 12\' with slight zoom. For a photographer like me, this is all I need. For the true professional, it might be appreciated for its quick simplicity. BTW, I easily found an additional battery on Amazon, and the battery is left in the camera when being charged. Definitely 5 stars overall.
  • I bought this camera for the zoom because we were going to Alaska. It did not disappoint! Easy to use and I am definitely a camera dummy! Videos and still shots, it does it all. Great point and shoot action too.
  • I bought this to replace a Lumix that I take traveling. I am up there in years now and find that my finger tips are smooth (this is common) and my fine motor coordination is going so I drop things easily. Even with writst straps, I dropped my phone in the bush of New Zealand twice (fortunately on it\'s back so I could find it) and my Lumix several times on the pavement (didn\'t break!) I decided it was time for a camera I could grip. I use an underwater Nikon Coolpix so I got this because it uses the same batteries and SD cards. I\'ve tried out the telephoto on birds and it\'s not bad at all. There\'s no comparison with a DSLR and great lenses but if you don\'t want to drag along heavy and expensive equipment, this camera could be for you. It\'s not that bulky either. THE HAND GRIP IS FANTASTIC and having a neck strap seems much safer as I progress into my dotage. For the price, I don\'t think you can find better. CR rated the B500 as one of their 5 top cameras under $300. It\'s similar but this is better and not much more.
  • After fighting to make it work correctly, this is the email I just got from Nikon: \"Thank you for contacting Nikon.  In regards to the Snapbridge connection,  what you are doing is correct. Every time you break the connection, you have to forget the camera from the app and bluetooth/wifi settings.   Then go through the connection process again. I do apologize that this is the way it works.\" This makes SnapBridge nearly useless, since it is a real hassle to set up the connection like it was new EVERY TIME YOU USE IT to copy photos off of the camera. I have purchased an SD Card reader. The camera works fine, but I might not have purchase the B600 if I knew that feature didn\'t work. I understand that it DOES work for Android, just not for iOS.
