- When I wanted a smaller camera (smaller than my DSLR) to take on trips, I found this one. It has many of the features of my DSLR, and the zoom feature is optical, not digital, so it takes great pictures. I highly recommend it.

- When transferring video from My new Kodak PIXORP AZ 405 to my editing software the Video transfers BUT NO AUDIO!MOV (Motion JPEG) does NOT work in all video editing programs.
- Not a terrible camera but definitely not what I expected. On overcast days the pics are blah. Otherwise the pics are clear but not as good as a typical smartphone camera. Haven\'t used the recording function much but it seems to be about the same as still pics.
- I wish I\'d listened to the reviews more. I bought this for the lens that could zoom (mainly to take pictures of backyard birds), but the photos simply aren\'t sharp enough. They\'re really no better than my older phone. The plus is that it\'s a very easy camera to use and would be good for someone who wanted something basic. But honestly, if the quality isn\'t that great, why wouldn\'t someone just use their phone???
- This is a vey nice point and shoot camera, but do not expect results like that of a D-SLR. That said, this is fantastic for a grab and go camera for family pictures, snapshots, vacation photos, etc... especially for times where you do not want to lug a bunch of gear (hiking, biking, kayaking).Let\'s start with the physical set up. It is easy to hold and relatively light weight without feeling cheap. I do miss having a view finder, as you are locked in to using the LCD screen to compose your shots. You have a wide range of controls for a point and shot; and you can shoot in any number of modes including aperture priority, shutter priority, and even manual. It gives you the ability to control focus type, metering, and even exposure compensation. You also have an array of automatic modes including several \"Scene\" type settings. The rear display can be set to show a large amount of information as well. With the exception of no view finder, I give it excellent marks on the set up and controls offered. This is all without going in to the actual menu where you can further adjust your settings to suit your preferences.All my images were shot handheld and in default settings as far as color, saturation, metering, white balance, and so on. I shot in several different modes including macro. I found the zoom to be impressive, though I did find that the autofocus struggled/searched at times at the extreme end of the 40X zoom and the images could be a bit soft even with the stabilization turned on. However, this was again handheld. The 40X zoom is a true optical zoom which is nice. The images are satisfactory in sharpness, clarity, and details. I find that it likes to especially saturate reds (and greens to a lesser degree) over other colors. On 100% magnification the images still retain acceptable sharpness, though you can see some fringing/haloing along some edges; especially in the macro mode.Overall, I am impressed with this little camera. It has the ability to take frame worthy images; yet it is light and compact enough to just through it in a bag and go. Again it will work beautifully for family snapshots and vacation photos. It does require AA, so you may consider a good set of rechargeables. It uses a standard size SD card, and recommends a class 10 or higher speed; though it performed fine even using an old class 4 I had laying around. If you are looking to learn more about photography, it could be a good place to start; as you get a camera that offers a high degree of manual control without having to invest in an actual D-SLR. If you are looking for a point and shoot to potentially grab print worthy images, this will work well too. All in all, it is a good value for sub $200 camera.

The camera has a good zoom capability, but lacks a swivel screen for vlogging or selfies. It also requires 4 AA batteries, which may be costly. The camera has a wide range of controls for a point-and-shoot and allows shooting in various modes including manual, aperture priority, shutter priority, and automatic. The 40x zoom is impressive, but of course not optimal towards the longer ranges. The images shot are satisfactory, but autofocus struggles at times, especially at the extreme end of the 40X zoom. The images tend to saturate reds and greens. The camera is built like a typical camera and has a 2.75\" x 1.75\" viewing screen, with the option for the built-in flash unit to be raised manually. The camera is autofocus, works better with plenty of light, and lacks a viewfinder. Overall, it is a good value for the price, is compact, and is ideal for family snapshots and vacation photos.
