- I recently purchased this Nikon Coolpix L30 compact digital camera as a back up to my older compact Canon digital camera. This camera is pretty easy to use, takes decent photos [for a compact digital camera], has a 5X optical zoom for those close up photos you need in a hurry and is very easy to put in your pocket or purse. I got the red model...very nice!It takes 2 AA batteries and that\'s a plus for me since I have many sets of rechargable AA batteries already handy for this camera. Common SD cards are used in this camera, a nice plus also.I really have not found anything negative about this camera yet except it seems a bit pokey between photos...slight shutter delay/lag. But overall, this camera is a great little compact digital camera and should take decent photos for me when I need them. I gave this camera 4 of 5 stars mostly because of the slight shutter delay/lag I have had with this camera.
- It is a nice compact camera that fits in my Ikelite underwater housing.The battery lid of the first camera broke off quite easily.The second camera I drowned last month as I hadn\'t properly sealed the housing :-(.I have found my third, used Nikon coolpix L30 on amazon. It is easy to use and works on rechargeable AA batteries.The camera is easy to use with lots of pre-set options as well as possibility to change the diaphragm.
- Arrived today nicely packaged with a pair of AA Energizer batteries and the hand strap. I purchased it refurbished.I downloaded the manual from Nikon\'s site and perused it first before starting the camera.First off I put the energizer batteries in the drawer and put in two Energizer Lithium batteries. The setup menu lets you indicate which type of batteries you\'re using.Then I installed a 32 gig Class 10 Ultra SanDisk card and formatted it...so far so good.Set my language, date and time, picture size and a few other settings. All of this was pretty straightforward.I then went around and snapped some early May scenery of SWVA and the local mountains. Nice crisp looking pictures.I then had two hours to kill so I trekked off towards Mt. Rogers (highest point in VA) and snapped more pictures. Response time for the pictures was quick and consistent...I experienced no lag.All in all I took 40 pictures w/o any problems.I then brought the camera back home, removed the card, placed it into my card reader and was tremendously pleased at the results.It maybe the best $49 I\'ve ever spent on anything at least recently.
- So far, so good. The battery door is the weak link of this camera---but I\'ve had this camera before and like the way I can switch to Close-up very quickly. I bought the max. memory card recommended by someone else in these reviews and it definitely works better. Thanks for that discovery! For a point and shoot, it gets good photos once you \"bond\" with it and its limitations. It does point and shoot/flash into dark voids which is good for construction shots. I use it on remote locations so prefer the Lithium AA batteries which can be purchased at any number of stores (or gas stations) in almost any remote location vs. having to buy multiple lithium batteries pre-charged. This camera is affordable enough that if I drop it off the scaffolding (which has happened; actually the camera still worked, but the memory card popped out) I can afford to buy a new one without too much guilt.
- there are still somethings I have to learn abo this camera but so far the pictures look like the pictures are going to be clear and bright Thank you My camera is so great since I\'ve written this review I taken more pictures and I\'ve taken video. The videos came out so nice they are clear and you can hear them great. I\'m so glad I brought this camera and the case I brought to put camera in is so cushiony it really protects my camera. I just love it I take loads of pictures, I live in a nursing home and I take pictures of all residents and entertainers at our many events I print them up as collages and hang them for everybody to see they love to see themselves, sometimes like now we have to way so I can afford the ink. But I am so thankful I brought this AWESOME camera!! Thank you Amazon for making this camera affordable to me.
- I bought this camera because I needed an easy to use point and shoot that could print large prints. This camera fails at all my requirements. First off it takes blurry photos. I thought some of the other reviewers were mocking it but no. I used studio lighting, and a tripod in an attempt to minimize the haziness of the image. It always blurred at full resolution and at half resolution, 10 MP. Every image blurry to some degree and using every setting that it had. The large LCD is nice but lags in what is shown. The last item of criticism is the lag time for photos. Kids and pets will never be captured by this camera, with just over 1 second lag it fails to capture any of my two year olds faces. I returned this camera and suggest others to be weary of purchasing it.
- Very good pictures.I didn\'t give it 5 stars because of the difficulty in transferring to my computer. It is necessary to remove the Flash Card and place into the computer. The flash card is mounted very close to the batteries, therefore making it hard to remove. There is an optional cable which I have ordered (sorry they don\'t mention this in the description). The socket for the cable is under a small soft rubber flap on the bottom. I hope it holds up.
- I was expecting to receive a camera in the original box with instructions and cable for uploading pictures.All I received was a camera wrapped in bubblewrap. No box, no instructions, nothing!! I was verydisappointed. It seems to be working fine at this point, but without a box or warranty, I don\'t haveanything to backup my purchase. I feel there should have been a better explanation of exactlywhat I was receiving.
