Nikon Z 50 DX-Format Mirrorless Camera w/NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm & 50-250mm VR Lens
- Just received second camera . straight out of the box took high in the colorado mountains in a heavy snow storm with below zero temps and high winds do far simply stunning .note be careful if you an over size box .. means it was repacked because original packing box was damaged in transit and they switched boxes I\'m convinced that\'s why my camera had to be sent back cuz it was damaged in transit That\'s pretty chromatid them to do they put it on you you know so behavior and be watching I had to send back z50 sad to say it has a problem intermitted . I would get stuck in iauto. However I ordered a replacment it will be here this week I did test the 1st one a little against my fuji XT3 only on landscape photos the z50 was brilliant against the Fuji.Surprised at the high quality of this camera I own currently Fuji XT3 on XT1 . Panasonic g9I purchased this camera as a travel camera not much more than a point and shoot that\'s all I expected so my great surprise and wonder this camera shoots absolutely phenomenal I\'m highly impressed. As far as the body goes and weatherproofing I don\'t think it is much More than marginal at best at least not in the same class with the Fuji and the luminex cameras. The two lenses that came with the kit are very sharp and off a great color but they\'re also extremely slow. The camera\'s a little small for my big hands but I can manage it I\'m hoping to come out with a an addition to the body for my hands other than the next 4 or 5 monthsBattery life seems to be extraordinarily good. It has numerous controls buttons and etc etc all of which I didn\'t expect all in all I would say this is a hit and this camera is going to be my go-to camera the next time I go up into the mountains looking for the lion or the bear wolfs or whatever is up there in the high country of Coloradoin the short time I\'ve had this camera I\'ve had it one day for several hours I just around zero degrees Fahrenheit we\'ll see we\'re expecting a major storm this weekend I\'ll be going up with this new camera and checking it out I wouldn\'t hesitate to buy this camera if it has any bugs well new cameras sometimes do I\'m sure Nikon will address it
- Excellent crop sensor mirrorless camera. As pointed out in more professional reviews, the ergonomics are excellent - small, light, with most controls in just the right spot. As an older photog, I appreciate not having to lug around a large, heavy camera. The kit lenses are decent, maybe not up to the critical eyes of pixelpeepers but excellent for the less critical amateurs. The 16-50mm is especially tiny. I do wish it had IBIS, in-body image stabilisation, like its FF brothers but few crop sensor (DX in Nikonese) cameras have it. I especially like the ability to download pictures to your Smartphone. I always have had difficulty doing this, particularly with prior Nikon DSLR\'s but now with bluetooth it is really set and forget. The photos readily appear in Gallery on my LG G8. And it is fun to use DSLR Nikon lens with the FTZ adapter. Picture quality is excellent.
- I have some more expensive and big Nikon cameras. I found that I was not bringing them with me due to the size and the weight. I bring this with me almost everywhere. The Kit lenses are decent and super light. One thing I am disappointed with is the lack of compatibility with my Tamron lenses. My \"go-to\" lens is my 70-200 Tamron. It is not compatible even with the adaptor. If I had known that before I bought it, I might have passed. Overall, I like this camera for the size and image quality. It will not replace my DSLR\'s for serious work, but often the best camera is the one you have and I have this one on my much more often
- Nikon Z50 produces images with a great overall impression of detail. The camera has a full movie, ISO, exposure compensation button trio just behind the shutter release, both front and back command dials , two Fn buttons out front, a Direction pad and a series of useful buttons down the back right side.I\'m quite happy with the Z50. At its price point—particularly the two lens kit —it\'s highly competitive, lightweight and easy to use. I did have a couple of questions and Nikon answered both within 24hrs.
- It\'s very slim and lightweight. As am learning photography it servers my purpose till now. I would like to give some more time to write a full review. But with the time I spent off now, I would def\'ly suggest this. Thanks
- Got the camera yesterday. Prompt delivery and everything in good shape. Haven\'t had much time to get out of the house and shoot but have attached some pictures of a few of our dogs, all taken with the 50-250, I think. Most of my lenses are Sigma and they have all worked perfectly with the adaptor. 100-400C, 17-50 and 105 Macro. Did a few short videos and was impressed with the quality, autofocus and image stabilization. Have a D7500 and video is really not its strong suite. Tink this is a keeper.
- Need more and faster lenses
- Still early to drop a big review but I can say that all things considered, price, quality... is not bad at all. Will update after I dig a bit deeper.
